Overview

Overview
Pacific Little League was founded in 1965. This little league is now the home for more than 800 boys and girls playing baseball and softball between the ages of 5-18.

Pacific Little League operates under the National Little League rules and guidelines, and has made only slight modifications to some of the playing rules in an attempt to enhance the playing experience for our children. The following is an excerpt from the National Little League organization:

"Little League Baseball and Softball is a program of service to youth. It is geared to provide an outlet of healthful activity and training under good leadership in the atmosphere of wholesome community participation. The movement is dedicated to helping children become good and decent citizens. It strives to inspire them with a goal and to enrich their lives toward the day when they must take their places in the world. It establishes for them rudiments of teamwork and fair play."

History
Pacific Little League became a charter program in the National Little League organization in 1965. Since then, Pacific, a volunteer-based organization, has provided services to over 20,000 boys and girls in the greater Edmonds/Lynnwood area, with an estimated impact on 10,000 families. Pacific has forged successful partnerships with the Cities of Edmonds and Lynnwood, along with the Edmonds School District.

The Echelbarger Fieldhouse was built with donated funds amounting to over $300,000 in 2000. Lights were added to Fields 1 and 2 in 2001, and to Field 3 in 2005. A major upgrade to the kitchen was done to the fieldhouse in 2005 to add ventilation, gas grills and ovens. All the facilities were paid by "Capital Improvement Fundraising" by Pacific Little League. No taxpayer dollars were contributed.

Little League International has published updates to the age determination, see our home page. For players born on or before August 31, 2005, for both 2016 and 2017 seasons, these players will use the April 30 age determination date (April 30 is the cutoff). For players born on or after September 1, 2005, the new age determination date is effectively immediately, starting with the 2016 season (cutoff date is August 31). There is ONE exception, for players born May 1, 2005 to August 31, 2005, they remain "League Age 12s" for the 2018 season. See our Baseball overview page.

The league is open to players who live within the established physical boundaries, subject to adherence to established rules and required parental support. In addition, player candidates must have parental or legal guardian consent.

League Boundaries

The boundaries for Pacific Little League are west of Highway 99, south of 148th Street, and north of 205th Street. Please refer to the league boundaries map.
