1.     How do the live events get on the Internet

a.     We use CCTV surveillance camera mounted on the fences at the park and convert those broadcasts to a digital format to a webcasting company

2.     Why are the live cameras on a schedule

a.     In order to limit costs, we have implemented a schedule to only broadcast the games when necessary

3.     Why is there only one camera view available

a.     We have found that most people like whole field view since it is hard to determine exactly where the play will be

4.     Are the games recorded for future playback

a.     At this time we do not record the games

5.     Why does the broadcast/player stop after 15 minutes

a.     We have found people left the player going all day long and in order to keep the costs down, we want to ensure people are actively watching the games if the player is going. If the player stops, click the start button in the middle of the player.

6.     What is the announcer login at the bottom of the page

a.     If you do any of the play-by-play and want to let people know who you are, you can enter your name to appear over the top of the player. Contact Doug Sheldon or Bob Stoneman for access.

a.     In order to minimize complexity we are using an existing hosting service, YouTube

2.     How do I make a video and share with the League

a.     Get an account on YouTube and follow there directions to upload or record a video using your WebCam. Once done, please select to Share the video with This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . Once we review the content weÕll post within a day or two

3.     What is the map showing me

a.     The map has marked the States and Counties where people are located that have watched our games on the Internet

4.     What does "n Hours" mean when I click on the placemark

a.     This is the total number of hours since the start of the season that have been watched by that State or Country.

5.     How do you know how many hours people are watching

a.     Our webhosting provider (Webcastusa) has a monitoring system that captures statistics on the amount of data which we convert to hours

Field Conditions

1.     Where is the weather data coming from

a.     We use a personal station that someone has near the field to get accurate information

2.     Why don't I see a weather sticker in the top center of my screen

a.     The Weather Underground Stickers are not compatible with Vista currently

3.     Why do I see an image that does change in the upper left of my screen

a.     That is a still image that is refreshed every few minutes so you can check field conditions anytime

4.     How do I get the Field Image on my Cell Phone

a.     You need a phone that can access the Internet and you can get the URL from the page when you click on the image or copy the URL below: http://www.pacificlittleleague.com/webcam/conditions.html

5.     Is there a cost to access the Field Image from my cell phone

a.     You need to check your cell plan since wireless company vary on handling and they will have either a metered service, blocks of data usage or a flat rate such as the iPhone.
