Page 1 of 6 Final 2009 Junior Standings: Wins Losses Diemond 23 2 Massey 13 4 Arrants 4 19 Davis ? ? 6/6 GamesPacific #1 - 10 Pacific #1 closed out the regular season on a winning note by defeating Pacific #4 10 - 2. Jordon Almes was the star of the day as he pitched a complete game gem. Jordon pounded the strike zone all day and did not issue a single free pass over the entire seven inning contest. Pacific #1 collected 11 hits on the day lead by two hit performances by Jordon Almes, Chace Diemond and Troy Rheinford. Everyone on Pacific #1 contributed offensively either with hits or walks. Pacific #1 collected nine free passes to go along with their 11 hits. The defensive play of the day was turned in by third baseman Troy Rheinford. On a hot hit ground ball Troy dove to his left to snag the smash and then from the seat of his pants he fired a strike to first base to nail the runner. Pacific #2 - 17 Austin Herron for Pacific #4 had a great game, going 4 for 5 with 3 singles and the first home run of the season for the team, driving the first pitch he saw of the game to deep center field! 6/5 Games Pacific #1 - 13 Tyeson Harbin pitched a complete game, shutting down Alderwood's offense, and giving Pacific's pitching a much needed break. Pacific pounded out 13 hits and collected three walks to beat Alderwood 13 - 3 in six innings. Troy Rheinford hit a two run homerun and collected three RBI's. Other big contributors to Pacific's offense were Teagan Harris who stroked a single and a pair of doubles. Nathan Nosek and Chace Diemond each had two hit nights. Ben Cruz and Jordan Almes each had a big RBI hits in the fifth inning when Pacific scored six runs on five hits. 6/3 Games Mill Creek #1 - 8 Millcreek took advantage of a Pacific wild streak scoring six runs in the 5th inning as three Pacific pitchers could not find the strike zone and walked eight hitters in the 5th, with six of them being in a row. Millcreek had one hit in the inning and Pacific comitted one error to hand Millcreek a victory. 6/2 Games Pacific #2 - 12 6/1 Games Pacific #2 - 14 Pacific #1 - 9 Despite playing one of their poorest games of the year, Pacific 1 held on to win 9-5 over Mukilteo 2. Pacific issued 13 free passes and committed 6 errors in the contest to allow Mukilteo back in the game. Pacific jumped out to a 9-1 lead on a grand slam homerun by Troy Rheinford. Troy ended the contest by going 3 for 4. Weston Carrothers and Anderson Ross both had two hit days for Pacific. The only defensive highlight for Pacific came in the bottom of the 6th inning. With Mukilteo trailing 9-5, they loaded bases with only one out. Nathan Nosek entered the game in relief and two picthes later was out of the jam as Pacific turned a 6-4-3 double play. That double play was started by shortstop Tyeson Harbin with a nice turn by Chace Diemond. Nathan finished off the game with a one, two, three seventh. Alderwood #1 - 12 Alderwood #2 - 15 5/29 Games Pacific #2 - 10 5/28 Games Pacific #1 - 17 Pacific 1 pounded out 13 hits and collected 9 walks as they defeated Millcreek 1, 17 - 4, in a five inning game at McCullum Park Thursday night. Almost everyone in Pacific's line up collected at least one hit with multiple hit performances turned in by Weston Carrothers, Chace Diemond, Nathan Nosek, and Travis Lyon. Chace Diemond was on base all five of his plate appearances scoring three times. Weston Carrothers and Teagan Harris also scored three runs apiece for Pacific. Three Pacific pitchers, Troy Rheinford, Travis Lyon and Teagan Harris combined to hold down Millcreeks offense. Pacific played solid defense as well with the highlight being a bases loaded inning ending double play in the bottom of the second. Shortstop Nathan Nosek started the double play and Weston Carrothers made a nice turn at second to finish the play getting relief pitcher Travis Lyon out of the bases loaded jam. 5/26 Games Pacific #1 - 5 Nathan Nosek and Tyeson Harbin pitched Pacific #1 to a 5-2 win over Alderwood #1. Nathan Nosek had to pitch his way out of several jams as his defense put him in some tough spots but he was up to the challenge. Nathan pitched out of a bases loaded jam in the first and third innings to hold Alderwood at bay. Tyeson Harbin came in relief in the fifth inning with the bases loaded and two outs and induced a fly out to left to get out of the inning. After that Tyeson cruised through the rest of the game. Hitting stars for Pacific were Teagan Harris (two hits), Chace Diemond (two hits), Nathan Nosek slammed an RBI doble and Jordon Almes had a clutch bases loaded single to pick up two RBI's. Miles Lavin had a perfect bunt base hit that also scored a important run for Pacific. Pacific #4 - 17 Pacific #4 plays their best game of the season due in large part to an outstanding pitching performance by Drew Kristjanson. Striking out 7 over 6 1/3 innings, Drew was in command all evening. His defense had his back with a very solid performance, highlighted with a great catch in left field by Luke Sanchez and Cole Kamacho making a great throw to nail a guy at 2nd base trying to stretch a single. The middle infield of Austin Herron and Jonathan Peterson made several key plays. Good patience at the plate and strong base running allowed the team to score 7 runs in the first six innings to take a commanding 7-1 lead. The bats came alive in the 7th inning with several key hits with runners in scoring position and some more heads up base running leading to 10 runs. Offensive players of note include Brian Webster (4 runs), Cole Kamacho (3 runs), Austin Herron (3 runs) and Drew Kristjanson (3 hits, 5 rbi). 5/23 GamesAlderwood #1 - 12 Pacific #2 - 13 Pacific #1 - 7 Three Pacific pitchers combined to throw a three hitter Thursday night against Alderwood #1. Tyeson Harbin, Nathan Nosek and Chace Diemond pitched seven strong innings and Pacific had just enough hitting to overcome some sloppy defensive play. Pacific committed six errors in the contest spotting Alderwood their four runs early in the game and spent the remainder of the game playing catch up. The 5th inning was the big inning for Pacific as they scored four of their runs in the that inning. The big hits were delivered by Troy Rheinford, Nathan Nosek and Travis Lyon. Travis's clutch hit came with two outs and drove in the final two runs for Pacific. The defensive play of the night for Pacific was turned in by first baseman Ben Cruz in the fourth inning. Ben made a diving snag of a hard hit ball that was heading for to right field for what looked to be a sure double. Alderwood played great defense all night long turning in several solid defensive plays. 5/18 Games Mill Creek #1 - 15 5/16 Games Alderwood #1 - 10 Pacific #1 - 10 For the first two innings Saturday it appeared that it was going to Dejavu for Pacific #1 against Millcreek #2. Last Tuesday Mill Creek 2 handed Pacific their first loss of the season, when Pacific couldn't find the strike zone and committed several errors handing Mill Creek several runs. Saturday the walks and errors returned as Pacific spotted Mill Creek a 5-2 lead. Chace Diemond gutted out a tough pitching performance as he over come a 36 pitch first inning to go four tough innings collecting the victory for Pacific. Miles Lavin threw the final three innings to pick up the save. Over the last five innings of the contest Pacific started throwing the leather at Mill Creek with some outstanding defensive plays. The capper being a game ending 6-4-3 double play. The outstanding play of the day was turned in by Travis Lyon when he made a diving catch on what looked to be a sure double. Jorden Almes also made a big defensive play in the bottom of 7th by throwing out the lead off hitter trying to stretch a single into a double. Offensively, Chace Diemond helped his own cause by driving in the tying and leading runs in the 4th with a two RBI single. In the fourth inning Pacific punched across 5 of their 10 runs. Other big hits in the inning were delivered by Troy Rheinford and Nathan Nosek. Troy ended the game by going 3 for 4 with a double and two singles. 5/14 Games Pacific #1 - 16 It didn't take long for Pacific #1 to get back on the winning track as they defeated Alderwood #2 Thursday night at Lynnwood HS 16 to 1. Nathan Nosek pitched a complete game gem Thursday losing his shutout bid with two outs in the bottom of the 7th inning. Nathan threw 94 pitches to throw the first complete game of the year for Pacific. Nathan pounded the strike zone all night long. While only striking out three batters Nathan forced Alderwood to put the ball in play and his defense played outstanding behind him. Leading the way on the defensive side was Miles Lavin who made two highlight plays at third. Cacther Chace Diemond helped Nathan out in the 7th by throwing out two Alderwood base runners saying Nathan some valuable pitch count. On the offense side Pacific pounded out 12 hits and worked the Alderwood pitching for 11 walks. Troy Rheinford had two hits including a long double off the left field fence. Chace Diemond, Weston Carrothers, Teagan Harris each had a two hit night for Pacific. 5/12 Games Pacific #1 - 5 Pacific #1's winning streak came to hault Tuesday night at the hands of Millcreek #2. Pitching and defense wins ball games and Pacific had neither on Tuesday. Walks and errors were the story on this night along with some timely hits by Millcreek. Millcreek took advantage of every opportunity to hand Pacific their first loss of the season. Sean Boyer had a good game for Pacific playing a solid first base and drilling a big hit to left. Pacific #2 - 6 5/11 Games Pacific #1 - 12 Nathan Nosek and Miles Lavin combined to throw five strong innings for Pacific #1 Monday at Mariner HS. Nathan also deliverd the big hit blasting an inside the park home run. Other key hits for Pacific were delivered by Troy Rheinford, Sean Boyer, and Jordon Almes. 5/9 Games Pacific #1 - 7 Troy Rheinford, Jordon Almes and Chace Diemond hurled a combined three hitter as Pacific #1 defeated Pacific #4 7-1 on Saturday afternoon at Scriber. Both teams played excellent defense with each squad turning double plays in the contest. The big hits for Pacific #1 were delivered by Miles Lavin and Jordon Almes. Miles Lavin drove in two big runs in the bottom of the fourth that helped provide some breathing room for Pacific #1. Pacific #1 played add on after that scoring solo runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Erik Siska pitched six strong innnings for Pacific #4 giving up nine hits. Siska did not record a strikeout but he forced Pacific #1 to put the ball in play and his defense played extremely well behind him. Pacific #2 - 16 5/8 Games Pacific #4 - 18 Pacific breaks out with 13 hits and 7 walks to score a season high 18 runs. While everyone contributed in this team effort, the offensive stars were Austin Herron, 2-2 with 2 walks, 4 runs and 3 RBIs, Brian Webster, 2-3 with 2 runs and 3 RBIs, and Erik Siska, 2-3 with 2 runs and 3 RBIs. Cole Olson and Drew Kristjanson combined for their second straight win. 4/30 Games Pacific #1 - 24 4/29 Games Pacific #4 - 8 A big win for Pacific #4 keyed by strong pitching performances. Cole Olson started and went 5 strong innings only giving up two runs with six strikeouts, and Drew Kristjanson came in to close out the last two innings giving up no runs and striking out three. The defense was solid with strong play from the middle infielders, shortstop Austin Herron and second baseman Jonathan Peterson. Jon also contributed with the bat going 2-2 with a 2 RBI triple, Jacob Perkins broke out with a big night at the plate going 2-3 with a walk and a double. Pacific #2 - 17 4/27 Games Mill Creek #1 - 12 4/25 Games Pacific #1 - 16 Nathan Nosek pitched 5 strong innings to lead Pacific 1 to the win. Nathan also lead Pacific at the plate by going four for five with the big hit being a triple. Ben Cruz chipped in with two hits and two walks and Troy Rheinford had two hits including a double. Chace Diemond was on base five times and scored four runs for Pacific. Pacific #2 - 18 Pacific #4 - 13 Pacific #4 gets their first win of the season behind strong pitching performances by Andrew Mahoney-Fernandez and Brian Webster. The defense was stellar with several great plays getting runners trying to advance extra bases. Austin Herron and Jonathan Peterson were the offensive stars, and the team used an 11 run fifth inning to take the lead and never looked back. 4/24 Games Pacific #1 - 6Pacific #3 - 4 Teagan Harris's heads up play in the bottom of the 7th inning preserved a win for Pacific #1. Pacific #3 traling 6-4 in the bottom of the 7th loaded the bases with two outs and hit what appeared to be a game tying base hit. Teagan playing centerfield hustled in to field the hard hit ground ball and forced the runner at second for the third and final out of the game. Teagan also lead the offense for Pacific #1 by chipping in with two hits. Tyeson Harbin and Jordon Almes threw 6 2/3 of solid baseball with Nathan Nosek recording the final out. Tyeson also chipped in with a key double to help his own cause. 4/23 Games Mill Creek #3 - 20 4/21 Games Alderwood #2 - 12 4/20 Games Pacific #1 - 10 Pacific 1 jumped out to a 9-1 and held on for a close 10 - 8 victory. Troy Rheinford slammed a three run homer for Pacific 1 to help post the the 9 - 1 lead. Pacific 2 chipped away at the lead getting as close as 9-8 by the top of the sixth. In the bottom of the sixth Pacific 1 pushed across an insurance run on Nathan Nosek's infield out and Tyeson Harbin pitched two + innings of solid relief to nail down the vistory. Tyeson pitched a perfect one, two, three seventh to close out the win. 4/19 Games Pacific #1 - 10 On only 52 pitches Miles Lavin and Weston Carrothers combined to shutout Pacific #3. Pacific #1 got contributions at the plate from Chace Diemond, Teagan Harris, Nathan Nosek with a big two out double by Justin Lawerence. Pitching and defense were the key to victory for Pacific #1. 4/18 Games Pacific #1 - 8 Pacific #1 pulled out a come from behind victory in a hard fought Jr's contest at Scriber Field this Saturday. Millcreek jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and things were not looking good for Pacific. In the bottom of the fourth Pacific pushed accross 4 runs to tie the game. Millcreek came back the very next inning and put two more runs on the board putting Pacific back in a hole. In the bottom of the sixth Pacific pushed across three big runs to take a 7 - 6 lead. The big hit was delivered by Travis Lyon with clutch two out base hit that drove in two big RBI's. Millcreek wasn't finished and fought back with one run in the top of the 7th to tie the game. In the bottom of the seventh Pacific loaded the bases on three straight walks and Nathen Nosek blistered a single into left field for the game winning RBI. Pacific #2 - 6 Alderwood #2 - 19 4/16 Games Pacific #1 - 13 For Pacific #1 Troy Rheinford was the star of the day as he hit a three run homer in his first at bat and followed it up with a grand slam in his second at bat. Troy and Chace Diemond combined for five innings of good mound work, combined with some solid defense secured the win. Mukilteo #2 - 12 4/11 Games Pacific #1 - 13 Troy Rheinford and Chace Diemond each homered tp help lead Pacific's offense. Travis Lyon threw four shutout innings and Teagan Harris finished off the game with a solid inning of work. Pacific #2 - 20 Mill Creek #2 - 17 4/10 Games Pacific #3 - 9 4/9 Games Pacific #1 - 9 Pitching and defense was the story for Pacific tonight. Troy Rheinford and Chace Diemond carried most of the load throwing six strong innings with Jordon Almes picking up a save by coming in to shut the door on a potnetial rally by Millcreek in the bottom of the 7th. Pacifc got just enough hits to score a few runs enabling Pacific to pull out the win.
